Gustav Theodor Fechner studied under physiologist
Ernst Heinrick Weber at Leipzig University and became Professor of Physics some ten years later (1833).
He created the field of Psychophysics (1860) by inventing the first probabilistic theory for compative judgment. His theory is the basis for the field of experimental psychology.
